LSD or HIIT!!!

If your goal is to lose weight in a relatively short period of time, then this article is important to you to read. When trying to lose weight you need to cut your calorie intake and add exercise, that is a no brain-er!! The question here is what is the best why to burn calories. If you start a program that involves a lot of LSD (long slow distance), you will improve you cardiovascular system and eventually burn calories. LSD is good for distance runners, and endurance athletes but not for the normal individual looking to drop pounds fast. Same goes for the weight room workouts by pushing up bench press, leg presses, shoulder presses, and bicep curls, you are going to get stronger but for weight loss it is going to take a lot longer to see results. So what do I need to do you ask? You need to HIIT (high intensityinterval training) the ground running!! High intensity training is exercising at a increased intensity that elevates your heart rate, gets you sweating, and burns calories fast and at a more efficient rate than LSD. You can add HIIT to any aspect of your workout, whether it be weight training, running, biking, etc. HIIT involves preforming repeated exercise bouts at a set distance or time at a maxium effort. Example of this training is :

Sprint 30 seconds/rest 60 seconds repeat or squat and press, Jump rope, sprint/ Rest 30 seconds repeat.

It is a simple principle to comprehend but it has a big payoff in the end. Your body and mind will thank you after you finish the very first workout. All programs need to incorporate both types of training along with a recommended day of rest but to lose weight fast you need to use some high intensity interval training.
